I agree USUALLY after the seats, but was wondering how the ride hand handling might be affected if the hinge point was just forward of the seats. There's still room for the engine and transmission assembly to move up and down. The upper part of the shocks will be mounted to the frame behind the...
Not just the axle but the entire swing arm. Its the hinge point where the swing arm attaches to the frame. How far forward (or back) should that hinge point be? No further than the middle of the frame? Behind the seats? Hoping to see if there is some sort of rule of thumb.
What is the golden rule for the pivot point for a live axle? I'm combining various rolling frames and am using the front end of a Kandi Spyder and a body of a Chinese UTV. I have a Dana transmission and torque converter mounted on a factory live axle from a Cub Cadet Big Country 4x2. Problem is...
Think a golf cart rim would be too light weight for a minibike? It's wide enough and I could take a three wheeler front axle with drum brake assy and weld a sprocket adapter on the other side.
Looking for a rear sprocket/ brake drum assy for a fat tire minibike build with a 4/4 wheel. I'm flexible on rear shaft diameter. Anybody point me in the right direction?
But how would it handle with the motor and torque converter ABOVE the rear wheel? Even though the seat is lower than a Baja the frame is actually several inches higher in ground clearance. Plus it will have front and rear shocks. It will be about 15-18" longer than axle to axle than my Baja...
So I have a Baja Frame that was cut in half. I thought I was going to build an All-Tertain Scooter with a high ground clearance and started by rotating the back end and welding the engine mount on top. After mocking it up I changed my mind.....I don't think I would feel comfortable sending me...
I have a Baja Warrior that I pulled from a scrap heap that was cut in half. I think I'm going to use the front fork and frame portion for a fat tire build. I have a 21x7x8 tire that I put on the front and have a new knobby 20x10x8 mounted on a 4/4 golf cart rim that I want to put on the back. Is...
