go to briggs and strattons website they have a whole thing on engine identification and downloadale pdf's for part numbers. You should then be able to go to any lawnmower parts store and order whatever you need.

yeah, i even tried the thing you use to remove your oil filter on your car that tightens as you try to turn it more. It's perfect because its circular but it doesn't budge
I cut a large square plate of quarter inch steel and drilled holes to fit. Did the same for the jackshaft mount. It's not too hard to make yourself, just need something to cut steel (preferably an oxy cutter or plasma cutter) and something to weld.

Lol i'm sorry but are you serious? There's comet 40 series all over the internet, and they are rated for 8-18hp: 1" crankshaft diameter. i have a 40 series on my 11 hp briggs. They're A little pricey but it's worth it.
