Hi guys- I have an old Manco Dingo 285. The brakes are terrible and after getting into this I realize that the existing brake drum appears to be slightly cone shaped. In other words the inboard side is slightly larger than the outboard side, if that makes sense. Do I need to replace the drum...

I might not be able to look at this Kart for a few more days. I passed on it because it has a bent axle and wont idle.

No I wasn't implying that it was done in a malicous way, only that they were taken down in the way that I posted them. I am still looking at the steering geometery on this kart I'll post what I find. Right now it just wants to go straight, and push the front wheels.

When you steer, it just continues to go straight. I will work on it a bit and post results. I am reading about Ackerman right now and looking at the geometery to see if its built correctly

The photos were removed because I didn't post them as thumb nails, and I posted more photos in the Kart ID section. The ones in the ID section were taken down because that section is for people who KNOW what their karts are, not wondering what they are. I had a rough few days on here.......lol

Live Axle Kart Yes that exactly what I mean it just wants to go straight with the front wheels turned. The owner claims that he puts weights in the front to help it turn because of the plowing.

Hi guys- Does a Dingo have a live axle? Or does it have some sort of diff? I looked at an exploded parts diagram and its tough to tell. It has something called "Vari Hub" but I am not sure what that is. I drove a kart tonight with a 10hp engine and a live axle, and it wouldn't turn worth a darn...

Yes its a Tecumseh 10hp. hopefully it runs as good as it looks. I thought I wanted to stay smaller than 8hp but like everything else we do we wind up bigger and better than we intended.

I paid $350 for this 10hp Kart. I feel like I did ok, it appears to be in nice shape. I have to pick it up tomorrow. 10hp should be plenty.

My hunt for a good used Dingo isnt going so well. This cart is a 10hp (he claims) and kind of expensive at $425. I'd like to offer him $350. What does everyone think?

Thats good to know, I would assume that torque converter requires little in maint. Ill continue to search.

Hi- I am looking at a Kart for my 7 year old son and I think I want a Dingo because it is a pro built kart with a torque converter. I understand that this kart was also built as a Red Fox? How can I get a new torque converter when it burns up a few years from now when this kart isnt being built...
