i got 22 inch tires ... runnin a 6:1 gear ratio with a comet 40 series and 10hp motor. at 3600 rpm it will top out at about 32 mph. My kart including myself on it weighs about 400 pounds and hauls arse. Lots of low end torque. Could regear a lil higher for more top end.

With the 13hp motor, theres pretty much only one way u should go. Comet 40 series would my choice. Get one out of a junked gokart or suck it up and dish out the 350 or so brand new. Its definetly worth every penny
im using 1.5" .120 square tubing on my build. Heavy yes, but very strong. Ive usued about 75 feet and have a lil bit more to go. Cost is about 40$ for 24 ft section. Ill let u know exact weight and what not a lil later
I mounted them on top after I installed the steering rack because things got crowded. Reason for the angle was so that the shock mounts werent ridiculously high after that change. And works well for travel yes.

What rod were you using Stephen? Some rods can be tricky even when the machine is set correctly. Try bumping up the amperage and see if that helps first.
