I used to mow yards with one exactly like that. GREAT mower and when you flipped the knob on the back of the cowl, man would it rev! Wish I still had it although my current 2 stroke (Suzuki) Toro mower has been a gem too. (1984 model)

My dad has a 1957 Lawnboy that he still uses on occasion.

Russ, how many of these do you have and where do you find them all?
Perhaps a dozen or so...all operational. Paid for 3 of 5 DuraForces. All other models were free or otherwise "trash finds". A couple came from e-bay.
If you guys knew what I knew...the the 2 cycle Lawn-Boy market would dry up tomorrow.
Clone Killaz to be sure...
I may put a DuraForce (complete w/mount) up for sale if anyone is interested.
2 cycle Lawn-Boys are getting rarer and more expensive by the day.
Who (besides Al Gore) could have predicted their demise.

Russ, why don't you just state a price? The biggest really valuable part of one of your engines is YOUR time and knowledge that went into the conversion; none of US knows how much YOUR time is worth to you.

I have a Lawnboy mower, it can be a pain to start sometimes. I think the carb may need adjusted. I have to choke it and unchoke it as the engine dies till it feels like really running. Then it cuts like a dream. Being a 2 stroke, you get twice as many pushes to the blade which makes it harder to bog down than an equivalent 4 stroke. It can also run in any position or orientation, which makes a 2 stroke easy as hell to use for a go kart, even vertical shaft since you can just turn it on its side.

if your looking to get more than $200, good luck. You could get so much better for that price. In my eyes its worth no more than $100 w/o clutch.

i know what your saying dude but are you going to sell it or not? btw 200 is fair for it anyway in a couple years that engine will be worth alot more.

$200 complete with mount and motor isnt really fair to Russ at all. Look at just the shear materials. As far as I remember he used 1/2" plate 6061 aluminum, Probably a good 1 sq' All the fasteners required then his own time ontop of that. I'd say it'd be easily into the $400's Then to make it easier for simple people Russ would probably sell it carb/crankshim and clutch as a package. Of course that'd cost more money to a buyer.
