Greetings, motorsport friends!

I have returned to the "Font of Gokart Knowledge" to drink deeply on the subject of....Voltage Regulators.

There are 2 wire connections on the motor near the starter. One appears to be a 2 wire connection to the low oil sensor the other one a two wire connection to....I don't know. This connector does accommodate the male 2 wire connector on the voltage regulator. But the other wire on the VR is a single wire that does not seem to connect anywhere.

I appreciate any guidance that will help me avoid frying any of the electronics.
I included some pics of the starter area and of the VR.

One connector coming from behind the flywheel is for the charge coil or coils, the other should go to the engine coil from a kill switch. On my 80T, one red wire is tied into the fuse holder and the voltage regulator. Grab a 12V test light and start looking for "HOTS."

charging systems on a Briggs 8hp is super weird to me I never could understand it. Kohler made 15A regulated very simple charging system... Briggs did diodes and ac for lights and low amp dc for the battery mostly Unregulated systems.
