I like how the internet/YouTube plays fast and loose with the word Light Sabre...

It's a glorified suped up glass torch burner... in a cool looking handle/backpack for the gas...
Well what would you call a lightsaber then??? I mean sure you can’t do lightsaber fencing with it, but it checks the most movie accurate boxes yet! And if you look at their early protosaber build they explain why they opted for the external power source.

To be fair, helicopters were fictional until the 20th century........
Seriously though, if you were able to build a lightsaber by your definition what would it be?

Probably a plasma saber. A sword made from super heated plasma that takes the shape of a saber.
Well you might be interested to know that an electrical welding arc is plasma, and flames are considered a low level plasma, they can even be manipulated shape wise by electric fields. So we could try to make an arc sword, but I think that’s even more power draw, not to mention EVEN more hazard to the wielder.
So by the definition of flame as a low level plasma, the lightsaber they built already fulfills your requirements sooooo.....(4000 degrees)
I mean, what’s your definition of plasma?

Flashlight and translucent plastic tube. Done.
Nice! :roflol:

Uhhhh that just makes it a lightsaber. That's closer to blasters more than anything. Besides, lasers are light emitters, it's not plasma. Unless you want to make a lasersaber? Better yet, just save time and just build a laser rifle.

M&Ms on pancakes or waffles? Plain or blueberry for me. My cousins for whatever weird and disgusting reason, always like creamy JIF peanut butter on theirs. How to ruin food 101.
