I’m new to go karts. Is there size difference between predator 212 and predator 420?

Can I put predator 420 to a Coleman kt196
Go kart?

Yes, the 420 is physically bigger, a lot bigger. I personally don't know if it can be wedged in there. My own experience with the Coleman karts leads me to think for my own personal beliefs I wouldn't do it but to each his own.

Massive difference in size, I managed to squeeze a predator 301 into a baja warrior frame without chopping...no way a 420 would fit.

Thought I'd also add, good luck finding either engine right now, every harbor freight statewide is out of all horizontal shaft engines, pipe benders, welders and several other items. They aren't shipping anything in from China and only running on warehouse reserves till who knows when. Seeing as the 420cc is roughly twice the size of a 212cc internally and externally I'd recommend a small block clone. Check local listings for a used one if your harbor freight scenarios match mine, best of luck!

True dat no engines in Connecticut of any size available. Makes me angry because they keep sending the coupons and flyers.

The 301 and 420 predator engines are directly comparable to a gx270 and a gx390, both of which are big block engines, if you fit the 301, you could fit the 420. The 670cc is an entirely different ballgame.

Good to know. They physically looked different in size to me but never measured. I have another baja frame that needs a engine looks like its gonna be a 420

Order online through harbor freight, I've got two arriving tomorrow. They are coming out of U.S. reserves so you still aren't funding China.

I have a yerf dog with a broken bolt in the engine (I broke it off when trying to take off cvt). I think the predator is a clone and even the bolt placement to the frame is the same?

Any idea cvt/transmission do I need (along with a new engine)?

Not here to argue with you, this isn't a political forum, remember?

Nothing AT ALL political about what I said.

All I said (in fewer words) was that your logic of mail ordering engines from a harbor freight warehouse that's stocked directly from conexes offloaded from a ship flying the Chinese flag isn't giving china your money because there aren't any Chinese employees at your local HFT retail store is about as ridiculous as you can get.

I’ve seen the Coleman karts and I have a few predator 420’s...........

Unless you lengthen the frame there isn’t enough room for it to fit.

Harbor freight are out but they have display engines still. Go have a looksy and do a comparison if there is one close to you.

Uh... Sitting in a warehouse in the US for a few months doesn't change where it came from.

Some folks don't understand the absolutes of economics anickode.

You just have to accept that as a fact. He will never realize if an import product is purchased then the country of origin has been supported. Short sighted consumerism comes into play. As for myself I admit that I buy the Chinese product. If I buy the comparable competitor product I am assuming at this point I am just buying a more expensive Chinese product as there are no other options. Who am I trying to fool? Myself? Or other people listening to my gibberish? At the end of the day the money goes back to the country of origin.

Have a nice day.
