Did it get so hot that it lost compression? Brand new engine, not likely. I've seen it on some old very worn engines.

I dunno? I put fresh oil in it and started on the brakes. The rotor had some burrs from the caliper failure. I took care of those and tried to install the new caliper. I wasn't happy. Any way I tried to mount it, the rotor interfered with the one of the springs on the caliper. I'm going to make these slots slottier.

Everything was fine before this filter cover went on. And I'm "0 for my lifetime" on successful vht header painting.

Old brake removed. New brake installed. After modifying the adapter bracket everything seems to be able to freely float and slide and compress and uncompress.

I ordered the yellow springs. Says for 4200 RPM engagement, but the ones that said 4000 RPM had me moving at 3000 RPM.

Unless I can find a 14T 5/8" Bore C type #41/#420 JS Sprocket, I'm going to switch to the 40T Rear Sprocket later.

Zip Tied the brake lever. Will return in the morning. Supposedly this allows the air bubbles to rise to the top of the reservoir. Poor man's brake bleed. I plan on replacing the China fluid (I won't speculate) with some better quality brake fluid....

BUT FIRST, I want to take this out for a neighborhood cruise. I'll try to figure out some sort of camera mount so I can get some sort of video in the some sort of morning.

If that doesn't work.
Gravity brake bleeding will work. Attach a hose to the caliper bleeder, or not, depends on what you plan on doing with excess brake fluid. Open the bleeder, come back later. Done deal, depending on how long you wait, and your master cylinder didn't run out of brake juice.

About 3 miles this morning.

Brake works.
Throttle works.
Starts right up.
Idles at stops.
Doesn’t drive away on its own.

Had it mostly between 5 and 6k RPM.
Never more than what seemed like 1/16th throttle. Definitely never more than 1/8th throttle.
Might have touched 38 mph around 6k RPM.

Need some more real-estate or a neighborhood that isn’t 75% Cops and Fireman.
Actually off duty Chicago cops probably don’t care about a Minibike driving about the speed limit. I seen a couple of guys in their mid 40’s whose faces lit up with huge smiles as I passed and waved.

Anyway haven’t begun to explore Full Throttle or 7k RPM (maybe peak HP) yet.

I have a good video of what a poorly positioned cell phone strapped to my chest with a belt looks like when it falls to the street at 31mph.

Some videos are a cheap knock off action cam. Some are from my old phone. The camera on my new phone seems decent, but I haven't really tested out the video on it yet. Sometimes I let youtube make corrections. The auto stabilize tends to blur the video.

Plus uploading from my phone over cellular doesn't allow HD. So I could probably do better.

Try this one, maybe it’s better? If it’s done processing.

I found this by zooming out on google maps. I’m not sure what it is. It looks like an awesome track about 1 mile around with (6) ~1/8mi straight aways. Where’s Denny? He’ll know this area.

That's a goat path.

Seriously, the bike is finished. More joyous words were never uttered.

$12 Walmart Bell Bicycle Computer installed.
Harbor Freight Rare Earth Magnet JB Welded to the sprocket.
Placing the magnet near the outer eddge of sprocket means it moves slower than if it was closer to the center. Magnet passes more slowly past the sensor, with more time between "events".
Looks tacky. Cord is short, but it is functional.
