It's not over yet, you still have over a month to go &, remember, it's not about cosmetics, it about mechanicals, as long as it goes, stops & the engine can be killed, all from the drivers seat without touching the engine, it qualifies...

I know that but I have absolutely no money right now, if do get some it may be possible, but I don't think I will, I still have to buy the secondary clutch, the pillow block bearing, the gear and the sproket and still have to ,take it to a muffler shop and still have to connect the trotttle and buy a chain and a belt

Ok so yesterday started the engine and it didn't want to idle but revs up fine, so I guessed it was because the slight intake leak it had because one of the thread that bolts down the carburetor, fixed the still has problems idling ,tried slowly turning the low speed idle screw, had better response and top end but still doesn't idle
So I'm pretty sure that I have the carburetor improperly tuned probly the spring in the carburetor, or the pop up pressure isn't right, and I don't know how to test it or don't have the equipment to I think my automotive Tech Class has it but I'll have to take it there to test it, but I'm not worried about it it's probably just a minor thing

And I may have the fuel mixture off, so I'll see if I can get 2 stoke 40-1 gas from my uncle and then I'll clean the spark plugs check the gap and start it

I still can't get it to idle and it boggs while trying to rev it at times smokes a lot not sure if it's the carburetor or what

---------- Post added at 03:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:47 PM ----------

I got it to run slightly better bit still idles rough smokes alot mostly out of the mag side piston, and shuts off after a while I hope it's not the crank seals

Or could it be the wrong carburetor jet?

Or misfire

How about posting a video to let me hear the engine, maybe I can help you.

Ok I will tomorrow it's raining outside right now, but I'm pretty sure it's maybe the timing maybe the vibration of the motor loosen the armature plate or something because it sounds like its misfiring because the pops are spaced out, not as close together, and if it helps as I turn the low speed idle screw it idles slightly better, but I'll upload the video to tomorrow so you can see for yourself.thanks

Also take a picture of the carburetor mixture screws.

Ok, so where do you have the high and low mixture screws set at? do you know where the idle speed adjustment screw is?

Ok, when you had the carburetor apart did you change the fulcrum lever spring and if you did was it the same color of the original one? did you set the fulcrum lever level with the body of the carburetor?

Was the spring the same color as the old one? because some kits come with different rate springs and you should replace the spring with the same rated tension spring which is color coded so the carburetor has the correct pop off pressure per application and fuel curve.

The brass one I have in it now is the same as my old but I'll look for my old spring
