I'll bet with that engine you could go 200mph and brake the land speed records for tricycles.

Seriously though that thing is too cool. Between Desert's kart and Slideways and this I can't make up my mind who to vote for. :mad2:

Haha that might just be an idea.

So the ignition switch cant carry enough amps through it for the coil so that part is fixed and it runs awesome.

A little advise to "carburetor tuners"..................................

The prejetted carbs for my specific application came with a 200 main jet and 20 pilot jet. I remind you that i could have saved $83.00 from buying the factory oem speced carbs for universal applications FYI. To get it to run finally i installed 270 main jets and a 45 pilot jet. I guess my mods worked cause its using alot more fuel. It hits the 8500 rev limiter as soon as you open the throttle. The power is almost scary. I opened up the throttle and found the rev limiter really quick in 4 gears.

I will get an updated ride video and all the proper functioning parts as everything works.

Day 1 of flogging and enjoying is over. Carbs are rich but it started everytime and ran great other than way rich on 1/2 throttle and up. And burnouts aren't an issue. haha

Got my trailer hitch on and lights wired also on the Jetta. I think im gonna make or buy a lower trailer tho. It sucks loading and unloading.

I still want to see turns done at speed. I can't see how this does it without a differential. It just doesn't make mechanical sense. Unless you are sliding on those bald rear tires.

The three wheeled ATV's that were banned from being manufactured had to be rode in a way in order to get them to turn such as weighting the outside peg with your foot in a turn to take some pressure off the inside wheel or they would push and they had live axles,if Joe shifts his body weight to the outside of a turn he should be able to turn his three wheeler just with shifting his body weight that way.

Ummm.......... Nice try but I can stand on the opposite corner and she still turns on a dime. When I meant most of the weight is on the front tire I meant it. I bet 75% of the weight is towards the front. Do the math guys, anything will turn with that much on the front end.

And I will get a video soon. I need to borrow a gopro or something similar to take the videos riding it.

And I officially have a weight...... 385 lbs. Ready to go. Got it out and took it to the dragstrip tonight so I could use it as a "pit" vehicle.

I don't know what you mean by "nice try" Joe, I was not doubting that your three wheeler did not turn I was standing up for you because I believe that you know what you are doing and that you have tried it out already, you took what I was saying wrong. Maybe you thought I was being sarcastic or something but I was not trying to be just explaining how three wheeled atv's had to be turned as I have had them in the past and that is the way you had to ride them, and I can add and subtract at the least.

Sorry, I was wanting to quote the other guy. That was my fault. And I did have a tire off the ground a time or 2 but I was in 3rd and going around a bend to test it. It's still not bad tho.

The rear axle has slid all the way over so I gotta weld the bearings solid cause the set screws won't hold it at all. seems how it wasn't made for this much power. So the video is gonna be awhile ! And my front sprocket is making the chain hit the clutch pushrod so I gotta find a 16 instead of 17 tooth. Problem is, is that I like the gear ratio and I can't go any smaller on the rear so I hope it doesn't hurt it too bad. I don't need anymore bottom end but I don't have a choice.

And also sometimes my wording comes off weird also guys............ I used to get that on my other forums also. I dont mean to be mean or rude but it comes out that way sometimes.

Don't weld them. You need a couple of two piece shaft collar's, one for each end of the shaft. Clamp them up tight against the inside of each bearing. And if two aren't enough, ad a couple more. You don't even need to remove the axle to install them.

And their cheap. 1" dia. models from McMaster Carr, p/n 6436K18 list for $5.44 each. Much better way to go than welding....

:iagree:
and would also add this. Take a look at How Desert Dueler uses machined spacers to prevent the axle from moving.

Dude that brings back some memories. 1978 I was 3 or 4 years old and had that big wheel! But mine had a hand brake on one side and wider rear wheels for doing "slide outs" aka 2015 Drifting:wai:

I thought of that idea already. I have some left over from my shifter kart. It still slides. I am thinking maybe finding some tube that slides over the axle and just doing that also. But the weld thing would only be 2 tack welds on the outer sides. The welds are last case scenario cause i got another car show this saturday that i promised id be there with.

I have seriously thought about going this way. It just doesnt appeal to me the way i want it to look at the end. I like blue alot hence the kawasaki blue pearl which is what im planning on. And the exact reason its not kawi green either. I just want to stay true to brand and make colors to help out some of the kawasaki guys. But i guess i messed that up using a rare twin engine tho huh ? haha

About your axle sliding. Get two of the collars that have the set screws. With the collars tight against both sides of one of the bearings mark where the set screw will go into the axle and then drill a small shallow hole there in the axle. You may or may not need longer set screws, but this will pin the axle in place. Doing it to both sides of one bearing will still allow the chassis to have a tiny bit of flex as the opposite bearing will float.

Clear as mud? :)

Gotcha ! I also noticed mine are the aluminum versions. I'm gonna get the steelies and use those instead. And drill a pilot hole for them to set in.
