Got the hiem ends today..... Got all excited to work on the kart tonight... Got home, went out back to get the bike, so I could pull off the wire harness. Finally get it up to the light by the back patio doors, just to see that the dogs beat me to it..... :censored:
Starting to bum me out..... That's great.... Another item to wait on in the mail..... :censored::censored:

I am shaking my fist at those dogs right now!!! Dag Nabbit:2guns:

My spindles are ready to be put together and welded. Got my front wheels in last night. Waiting on tires now. One pic is the only parts of the wire harness that were salvageable..... I think I might just wire up my own harness... I can't be THAT difficult..... :lolgoku:
I do not see getting this kart done ,per contest rules, by new years.... I am going to make 2 more parts orders this weekend. That's 7 more days of waiting..... I might just drop off the kart at the upholstery shop to get an interior "did". I don't want to tackle making a seat and door panels too. I'm already behind. Besides, it will get him familiar with the body size, for when I start making more in March.

I'm on track to have a rolling go kart , by the end of this week end. I might even have it running again! My rear sprocket and chain come in tomorrow. I ordered a 40 tooth, thinking it would have about right with the new tire size. I hope it's enough on the torque side, at least, because I can only move up to a 42 tooth, due to space. I could make a jack shaft if I had to, but I think I'll be ok.
I got my wiring figured out last night. And thanks to seethsun, I got the wire plugs too, like oem! It's coming along.
I'm still have trouble getting the front tires. I can't find them locally, and shipping might not make it by new years. It most likely would, but I want time to dial in the steering, if need be....
That, and im an "instant gratification " type person. I want it now.... Ain't nobody got time for..... Waiting..... :lolgoku:
Tonight, I need to go get some material to make a seat. If nothing else, I'll use a racing bucket seat, to suffice the contest rules. I want a bench seat, in maroon, with two tone piping.... Door panels the same way.
Other than the tires, I still need a 5 wire cdi box (dogs ate it), some wire, tie rods to cut up and make my own with, and figure out the steering. :smiley_omg: I have yet to make or buy pedals. I need 3.... Crap! And cables too. And a brake disc. And a shifter.....
Ok, back to work..... I'll get it done......:cheers2:

Unfortunately, as per Jims request, I have removed this build from the contest.

I don't know any details but, Jim is unable to finish at this time...

:welcome2: to the second half of this build. Grab some  and :cheers2:, this might be another couple months yet til completion. I got a few irons in the fire at the moment. :stir:
I got in some new tires today. Gonna drop them off at my tire guys shop to get stretched on to the wheels..... :lolgoku:
I ordered 2 different brake set ups. One standard hydraulic race kart set up for axle only. I also ordered a 3 caliper set up from www.gopowersports.com ,to start fabricating the hubs that will bolt up to the front wheels. Since this kart is going to be my "test mule" , its gonna start with the race kart set up, then once I'm done with the front hubs, I'll switch to the front/back set up.
I also ordered a speedometer set up from www.gopowersports.com to test out. I found some cool gauges to use at http://www.kosonorthamerica.com
They're really slick ,just not sure I want to spend that much just yet.....
I got the front end of the frame welded up, and half the front axle mocked up ,for measuring purposes. I've been waiting to get the tires, so there is no surprises......
Only one pic at the moment..... But its new tires......
