OK- So this is kinda cool...my little red-eared slider turtle (Vin Diesel. ....you know 'Fast and Furious' LOL....) is starting to get tamed down..instead of withdrawing in his shell when I put my finger or hand up to the aquarium- he now follows it around.

He has also made the connection between his food container and getting fed....he gets excited when he sees it. ....

I'll be working on hand feeding pretty soon. .....

Just realized. ...I never updated on Vin Diesel. ...he's a total nut case...constantly hungry. ....and yes....I hand trained him weeks ago...I give him dried shrimp and he plucks them from my fingers....scares both of us....LOL.....but he's cool and being nutty is a prerequisite to living here!!!

So......I made authentic German saubraten yesterday thanks to 'sids help and holey moley was it GOOD!!!!! Maybe it's just the German in me that enjoyed it so much. ....But it was pretty awesome. ....

I was supposeded to brine this beef roast for 21 days in a mixture of red wine, onions, rasberry vinegar, juniper berries, whole cloves and a bay leaf for 21 days.....

I wasn't quite ready to cook it after 21 days...so it went to 28.....but it was awesome. ...thanks Alex..I have now experienced a culinary delight that not 5% of the American public ever will.....L

And while I'm talking outloud.....I'm curious about local German potato salad. ....that has to be another thing that varies by localities. ....and has some really good recipies that haven't made the trip to America? ??????

Ok...so here's the crazy thing..... (or is it. ...after all. ...I am Poboy.....)....I've started collecting aluminum cans......now of course we all haveleftovers affter consuming mass conehead quantities. ....

But I went out yesterday. ....and stopped at a park where all the local employees from the defense plant drink....and picked up 20 cans in 5 min....then I went to the lake and picked up 40....then....without going out of my way....I stopped at a Quick Trip and picked up 20 more. ....

So this was my first outing collecting cans...but it was pretty good. ..and I'll bet I can make it even more productive next time around. ...I won't get rich. ...but I will come out a heck of a lot better than those chumps walking the roadsides!!!!!

Ok....some recent posts got me to thinking about a past member.....who was going to build a wooden kart......he had done a lot of planning. ... (over 15 mins....) and had everything pretty well thought out......may he rest in peace...pretty sure he's gone. ....nice guy. ...flawed idea......anyway. ...haven't heard much lately....of course. ....it's entirely possible he's still around. ....and just been busy with legal problems as he got charged with vehicular homicide for letting someone else drive that kart.......

What the heck was that guy's name......Ghandi. ....? JJ Walker.....?....no.....maybe JahnnJ.....No!!!! I can't remember. .....anyway....bless his heart. ...he tried......

Ahhhh....really....the man that takes himself.... ( or life...) too seriously....is bound and doomed to suffer sever disappointment at one point or another...while the happy clown dancing through life....can only stumble occasionally. ....but will be back on his feet.....-barely missing a step....

Took me a long time and a lot of my life to.figure that out. .so at least give it a little thought. .......
