yeah but how come they just dont take off when you do that they just rev up if that was the case they would just take off when you passed someone or was trying to get on the interstate

fftopic: I'm guessing you haven't driven very many vehicles. From the way you have been posting, you seem to be hung up on just one; YOURS. And that's fine, as far as it goes. Here's the deal though; don't start dissing on other peoples cars, trucks, vans with bodywork made out of pressed plant material, etc. Life is to short for $*** like that, and this broken record thing is starting to get annoying.As far as making power? I believe it was Old Man Don Garlits (in an old,old edition of Popular Mechanics that I do not have any more) that bet someone that he could pull more than 1000 HP out of a weed wacker motor. It's just a matter of what you are willing to pay.
Speaking for myself, I've driven various forms of transport that had multiple cylinder configurations that have included 1,2,3,4,5,6 & 8 pistons in both gas and diesel, as well as one all to short stint behind the wheel of a V12 Jaguar. Who needs the premium stereo when you have one of those little jewels at the beck and call of your right foot?

iv driven probilly every common car brand there is out there i drove dodge,ford,chevy,toyouta,nissan and i drove cars with v6s and they just rev really high most of the time
I don't understand why you are so against V6's. My blazer has the 4.3 V6 and gets nearly the same acceleration as my mom's F150 with the 351 V8 in it. And I get 19 mpg's while her's gets only 14. As far as the high revving part, it's a matter of how good you are at driving I guess. I can accelerate to 60 mph in around 8 seconds while keeping the rpms below 2500. The highest I've gotten it to was like 4k when I gunned it from a standstill and hit 35 in first gear
All in all, the blazer drivetrain would be your best bet. The v6 is nearly indestructible as well as the tranny and t-case.
Oh yeah.. 3.73 gears and stock 28" tires on mine.

not sure what your trying to get at here besides make yourself sound dumb. yes, v6s rev higher than v8s because they make their peak torque higher. Doesnt mean they make no power. a 4.3 vortec blazer is just as fast as my 88 gmc with a tbi 350, and it gets way better mileage.
Your not going to get record breaking 0-60 times with a 4.3 but u should be able get there in under 10 seconds which is pretty **** good for a wrangler. My yota takes like 14 seconds to 60, and i still pass people and highway drive with it.

Its all about the gearing and transmission when it comes to power ..... toystory is right ! any motor will give you the power you want . if its torque ..... thats where your decision of what motor comes in

I looked into a friends specs on a 2001 jeep cherokee sport with 4.0 i6 ..... surprisingly its a very strong fuel injected 193 HP !
They are very cheap to get and so are the other driveline parts as well as long as you shop around .
I read about the 5:12's back on one of the other pages ..... definitely NOT a good idea if your looking for mileage , you will be able to climb mountains but only get about 8 MPG doing it !
you can get a whole driveline out of a vehicle like this typically for around 1000.00 . I suggest looking for a vehicle that has been in a wreck and can pick up the whole thing for about half .
if you want a good road vehicle with stock size tires .... the current gearing in the axles should work just fine . Its when the tire size gets bigger is when you have to regear .
I own a 76 CJ w/304 V8 , T-150 transmission (needs an upgrade yet ) , Dana 20 T-case , amc 20 rear axle , dana 30 front regeared to 4:10 gears . My gears are still a little high for my tire size but its my daily driver and I still get 10 MPG with a 39.5 size tire on it . It works fine for offrading as long as I use low range .
Just my thoughts , I am new here but I am very experienced in the 4x4 field . I came here to get ideas on a cart build for me and my son to work on in my spare time and this place is very informative
