That's going to be BADA$$! I loved how it was before and it's kind of a bummer to see it modified like this but in then end I think it's going to be so worth it! You are going to have something awesome and original!! Good job!!

For the record, THIS is what I call a COOL build! What's not to like? Scaled down, looks like a vintage truck, 4x4, bike engine, 'Zuki parts.... Uber cool. I AM jealous. Write that down.

got some more of the front 4 link done today, nothin fancy but heres what i got...

front 4 link in place and brackets welded up on one side, also got some of the brackets welded up on the other side but the brackets on the axle still need drilled out before they can be welded solid

i love showin off good welds, not perfect like what i'd lay down at work.... but i wouldn't expect them to get picked on

more progress pics tomorrow, expecting front end to be done minus the panhard bar. might start mounting the steering box and linkage though.

Looking good

Have u got any pics of the drive train

here is what it looks like right now, the plan if it will fit is the samurai trans mounted off a short driveshaft from the motorcycle trans, then the divorced samurai transfer case after that, but i haven't started into the transmissions or transfer case yet. shouldn't be too bad.

Holy hannah! Talk about a compound crawl ratio! Bike tranny to Suzi tranny to t-case, and then axle reduction? Dang! That thing will climb a brick wall! (and it nets you reverse, too) Almost like the old trick of mounting the redux half of an NP203 to your NP205... But with more ratios!

I did a bit of research on the Legends ('cuz I'd never heard of 'em), and really think they're the cat's caboose. Where did you lay hands on yours, and what did it cost you? I'm completely in love with this project, it's my idea of an offroader- small, light, nimble, uber-cool looking, trailerable...

What do I have to do to be written into your will?

it is a very similar idea to a 203/205 doubler but with a much larger range of gear ratios all the way from 10x under driven to 10x overdriven. its the way to go if i can make it all fit but ill be finding out soon.

i found it on the local craigslist in olin,ia. i ended up trading 2 nice honda 3wheelers and 300$ cash for it :sifone: . the guy was super excited to be getting the 3wheelers and i was wondering what the hell was wrong with him... this legend truck is amazing! thanks for your interest toystory, im glad to see that there are people watching this build. and im pretty sure this things goin with me to my grave lol along with my diesel truck.

front 4 link is all done except the panhard bar , still need to measure for what length it will be. but got the axles up on the jackstands and set them to ride height and with the 7x16 ags it should measure up to be 5'6" tall without anyone in it but i can adjust the shocks up or down to whatever i want. more than likely will try to adjust them down to keep it under 5' if possible without too much tire clearance issues.

heres progress pics.....

good news on my junk, i cut the bellhousing off of one of my sami transmissions and it will fit with some room to spare into the legend truck so i will have a **** ton of gear options on the fly

im gonna try to get some mounts made up for it tomorrow and get some pics posted up. maybe even get the sami tcase mounted too.

those tires look great!

is it easy to revert it back the the street dragster that it was before, or is this off road permanent? Just thinking that with a few nuts and bolts it can go to BA dragster to off road mudder!!

here's the second transmission and sami transfer case mocked up in there, nothing is mounted yet. the trans and transfer case will be going up a few more inches yet.
