Hello All,
First-time poster here. Wanted to share my newest project. It's an 8HP Manco Dingo. After some "artful" negotiation, my girls and I drove over to Auburn Hills last weekend and picked 'er up.
Runs like a champ. It was the estate of an older couple who kept it for their grandson. Future plans are to street-ify this thing. Lose the roll cage, ditch the knobbies for street slicks, get it sitting lower, etc. (I have access to more parking lots than I do trails or fields). I have some plans for "stage II", but I'll keep them confidential for now. My wife wants me to leave it alone and just drive it. So I'll slap an ORV sticker on it and drive it for a few months. But before you know it, the mayhem will begin! Anywho, enjoy some pics.
On the trip home.
Discovered at the sellers house the clutch was locked up. Drive clutch was fully engaged. The inner drum I am pointing to should be fully inside the outer drum.
Tore it apart and found the rollers had come out of their tracks. Look close at the rollers.
Back in their tracks. Also crimped the spring ends so they don't pop off.
Reassembled. Inner drum is now inside outer drum.
Got the slack back in the belt.
Also got rid of the ghey wooden pedal extensions (it was a kid's kart). Here you can still see one on the brake pedal.
Both extensions gone. Pedals straightened.
Thats about it for now. I'll clean and powerwash her up and post some more pics. I promise some changes before the riding season is up.
