How long till you get your JOL? I think maybe you should just happen to bring the chainsaw with you next time you go.... trails are now open! :D

that would be a good idea to bring a chainsaw and stick it on the kart... what jol?

remember this isnt my property and the people that own it are probably not going to clear the paths because they dont use most of them anymore. only for dirt bikers

Junior Operators License I wasn't sure if they had them in CT, but you get it at 16 1/2 and it allows you to drive by yourself.

If your worried about noise, a good sharp hack saw (for cutting trees, not lumber!) and some rope can clear a trail pretty well.

i dont think we have JOL in ct. never heard of it.

im off to go pick up a new rider! craftsman 16hp hydrostatic. FREE. only problem is i have to drive it 2 miles through town to get it home. gonna get some weird looks.

messin around with valve springs. 6.5 clone springs are some of the weakest springs ive pulled from engines. found some OHV briggs springs that are slightly stiffer. im gonna pop them in tomorrow and see how much more rev's i get. i also have super thick springs from a 8hp briggs flathead but they wont even compress enough to fit on the valve stem haha. eventually ill get 18lb springs made for the clone.

the OHV briggs spring is on the left, 6.5 clone spring is on the right.

new exhaust!

first i unscrewed the spout and drained all that baby powder stuff.

then i cut notches, probably didnt need to. i learned a hose clamp wont crimp this to a pipe.

drilled a 1" hole in the bottom

drilled through the top and actually bolted it through to the straight pipe. i was out of ideas so it works...

the old (a week ago i spent HOURS) and new

wow i have a lot of crap

BAD news. my motor (i think) is blown.

i was down in the tobacco fields with my friend andrew, scott, justin, and rob, and i rode justins KTM 200 while scott rode my warrior. when i met up with him again, he was on the side of the trail unable to pull start the engine. SIESED!

i unscrewed the oil (changed it this morning) and let some pour out. it smells really gassy and its thin. so i put the plug back in and tried to force over the engine. it slowly loosened up and then felt like it had no compression. i finally got it to start and it blew out TONS OF BLUE SMOKE. the smoke went away after a while, and the engine was slowly more powerful.

i rode it back with no problems. should i be worried?

sweet video in a few!

Uh, considering you just had the valves out and were goofing with the spring rates, I'd check to make sure you didn't just suffer from a stuck valve and piston/valve collision resulting in a bent valve.

Nah those were my spare parts. I havent opened up the engine before. I never switched the valve springs yet. I have a spare piston rod rings and block too.

I would go to HF and buy a new motor, they are on sale for $99 until the end of the month:idea2:

Dang that is a good deal. I may build a Tecumseh h60 for it though, I finally got a parts motor. Vintage would be cool.

This is probably the coolest vid I've ever made.

Get err apart yet?

I think Im gon put my TC on my red kart.

This kart needs some love, need to get the Honda running though.
This kart went around 27-28mph. Im hoping with the TC I can make it up my driveway. I dont know if I can figure that out though. Eitherway, ittle be fun.

sooooo the baja is probably going to be not run for a while, unless i feel like going out in the cold and pulling that engine out.

i think im gonna put some time and money into my kart, the one in my basement. H60 tecumseh (i got that parts motor!) and buy a brand new TC for it, or just put that on my christmas list haa.

i need: an axle (rear), a TC, put the engine together, a seat, a steering shaft and tie rod, i think thats it...

its going to look pretty awesome, vintage tecumseh H60 with a new fresh white paint job, and comet 30.
