Canadian Bacon? What's that?

I dunno- how about this- long thin strips of piggy goodness, a little crispy, a little salty, a little maple-y. Gotta go!

Umm, American bacon. What you refer to as Canadian Bacon, we call back bacon. Calling Canadian bacon in Canada would seem silly. In Brazil, do they just call Brazil nuts "nuts"? What about Italian or Polish sausage? I'm going to assume in China, they call Chinese food "food". No?

Dang. I wonder what I call American Cheese. Because I've never seen "American" cheese for sale. And I'm a cheese freak. Goes great on bacon.
EDIT- Googled. What? That entirely non-cheeselike plastic wrapped individual sheets of salty orange putty? That's not cheese! Yech! We just call that "processed" cheese. Yech! Comes from plastic cows, methinks!

It's still called American cheese in America. It comes in many forms and makes incredible mac-n-cheese and grilled cheese (due to engineered cheesy-ness), but that's about the extent of its use.

Re-engineering required. My love of bacon is second only to my love of cheese. Here, we have "American" cheese, and it's pretty popular. But in no manner does it resemble cheese. When you melt it, it turns into goop. Okay, I'll admit that a grilled cheese sandwich made with the evil goop actually is pretty tasty, but cheese, it ain't.

...It's amazing that I don't weigh 400 lbs...

I think we need a favorite cheese poll. TS being the connoisseur that you are, I nominate you for the starting of said poll. I vote for asiago!

Do they sell the abomination that is Kraft Easy Mac in Canada? The horrid microwave cups of sub sub-par mac-n-cheese?

And for a useless fact, tuna will sink if they stop swimming. (My biology teacher posts one of these random facts daily.) Americans choke on toothpicks more than anything else.

Three times more men commit suicide than women. But three times more women attempt suicide than men.

Each day is longer than the previous one by 0.00000002 sec. This works out at 13 sec. each century.
