Why has nobody mentioned that the older briggs just had the hose dumping down out the valve cover there... that has to stay open but you can plug the hole on the carb like you've already got. This is amazingly common...

should i take off the head and clean out the oil on it? or will it just burn off after time?

I would take the spark plug out and pour some gas in their to dilute it, then after 10 minutes pull it over 9 or 10 times, reinstall the plug and let the motor burn off the rest.

Just run it normally until it clears. Nothing special to do.

exactly what russ said... if you get more oil in the cylinder head from the engine being tiped its not like you ruined it or you have to dissasemble it for it to run right or what not....

ive noticed some oil coming out one of the head bolts. also oil came out of the gasket. will this cause it not to idle?

i ran it for 10 minutes nd it is still running the same. nd even after it has warmed up still will not idle. is this the signs of bad head gasket?

it is on the side by the fly wheel. hard to tell. can an engine still run with a blown gasket?

Do a compression check. Might have worn rings, but sounds like oil drenched everything.

i took the head off nd there was alot of oil on the top of the piston. also there was oil on the outside of the fins behind the fly wheel. i will be getting a new head gasket tommoro. hopefully this will solve my problem.
