I talked my Mom into letting me buy a wrist rocket without explanation of what it was.
She assumed it was a toy rocket you launched from your arm.
The woman about had a heart attack when I came through the door with a slingshot that could probably drop a deer. :smiley_omg:

I once made up some flour and water dough balls, and shot my little brother in the butt. That was about the last time I saw it.

at 10 or 11 We made potato guns that launched tennis balls...using WD-40 for propellant.
and then we made tumble weed forts and had a battle.
Well after a while WD 40 soaks in to the Tennis ball fuzz.
and someone ended up launching a Flaming tennis ball at a Tumble weed Fort!
FLAMES!!! BIG TALL GLORIOUS FLAMES!
As I ran home, White as a Ghost my Dad was just pulling in the driveway and a Firetruck was passing him!!!
He kicked my rear before he even asked!
No-one ever even got officially in trouble by the cops or Fire Dept. nuthin! Oh the '80s were great.

Having six brothers there wouldn't be enough bandwidth to cover the crazy things we did. BB gun battles with locust thorns for ammo was one of our most frequent.
I miss the 80's, and don't remember most of the 90's.

We still have a set of lawn darts in the shed we got years ago at a garage sale. Wouldn't call this dangerous but, back when we visit my aunts, uncles and cousins during the winter, we brought our snowmobiles. Myself and cousins would tie our plastic sleds behind the snowmobiles and be towed around on the lake.

I know some overly protected parents nowadays would call CPS in a heart beat. I miss the mid and late 90s.

Age 6/7ish.. JARTS... Steel tipped lawn darts....They would stick in the garage roof/door if you sharpened them on the side walk:thumbsup:. Dad was not impressed.:furious2: My butt was. :smiley_omg:

Sharpen them then throw them straight up.

I guess I'm normal now.

I had lawn darts, sharpened and thrown straight up.

Used to shoot my arrows from salt cedar sprig bows straight up too.

Gas soaked tennis balls were a blast.

Found out a M1000 was the same diameter as a marble. Found pipe of such size and rigged a makeshift marble gun.

My bro and I fired rocks from our wrist rockets at each other at so many paces.

Rode our banana skate board on our belly's down the drain diches. Carefull for rocks. Bro had a scab from chin to hair line.

Ran around with a .22 all the time.

Pulled said .22s apart for the powder, packed a testors paint bottle full. Drilled hole in cap and added fuse. Wrapped with a whole roll of black tape. ACME BOMB.

Jump off roof onto trampoline, bounce into pool.

Ya know a normal child hood.....

Dry Ice Bombs! Before 9/11 it really was not such a big deal.
My Dad took us to the Store and the desert and made them with us.

I blew one up in my hand, and it hit me in the High leg area. Just 2 inches from the famiy Jewels.
Normal Childhood!

Man and here I thought I was the only one that knew how to make napalm. Though I think diesel would be a better candidate over gas.

Contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Yep, that's a felony... or a misdemeanor.

All that I will say is one summer I found a case of Dynamite I shot a bow and The Dukes Of Hazzard just came on TV. By the way arrows weighted with the big D don't exactly fly where you want them to. Man now I miss my summer with a pound of C4. :censored:

Late 70's and early 80's were a wonderful time to be a kid!

If then was now, we'd all be shacked up with a "Bubba" for the rest of our lives. :D
