Youngest Kart Builder?

I was wondering what is the youngest member to have actually built a kart themselves? I am 16 and have just finished my first build, completed by myself!.

We'll im 15, i half built a kart, i took a frame extended it, and put a bike engine on it.

I think I was 13 when I first started my good kart. Built a wooded kart at age 10.

yeah i was building wood karts when i was 10ish aswell. rubbish rubbish fun. i made myself a trike once. many an injury. I have owned and worked on alot of different engined vehicles and just learnt as i went. thought i would put something together.

well, im 12, and with some help (like welding, 2 handed stuff) i have almost finished my first kart. i planned everything myself with the help of a few free plans.

do i get the award?

I'm 12 and I have been building different parts for my go karts and heavily moddifying them for about a year...

Yea, if you count wooden karts i made one when i was 8 or 9, all the help i had was my dad cutting the wood for me. I also rode lawn mowers around as karts since i was 7...never modified much on them but i bought them with x-mas money for cheap, or got them for free because they didnt run and i fixed them myself.

LOL, I'm sure if you'd search, you'd find the answer in a different thread, but I'll tell you anyway. I'm 25 and I'll be 26 in July.

I'm still just a big kid though.

I made a wooden billy kart when i was about 8 and made my own kart wen i was 15 (now). I welded, grinded, cut it, all myself. Ive now painted it and it looks real nice.

I feel bad, here I am 30 years old and have to ask 12 year old kids for advice on kart engines.... It's all good tho You all keep up the good work....

This should help you feel younger yellow. Your 5-6 years younger then my dad and I'll be 29 this year.

BTW: I have socks older then most of you... but your still a good bunch

i thought it would lol! is that enough of an excuse why my welds are **** (btw, i did as people said and practiced on some plate at different amps, theyre slowly improving!)
