Ordered new brakes and bearings from BMI last week.

I used the actual part numbers from the Yerf Dog part number list: http://www.yerf-dog.com/manuals/3203A_T.pdf

The new bearings I got have a "nub" on them....

Not sure if I should just sand/file it down or what.....the stock bearings certainly didn't have this..

And I also ordered a new drum and band as per the part number list.

I didn't pay attention to the description (my fault) but I clearly had a 4" brake before...

Along with the order I got a new swingarm

It looks like there's a provision for the new brake band....I'm just having a hard time wrapping my mind around how the band is going to center on the drum and axle..

Thanks for looking.

It looks like a 6"band. Could you not simply buy a 6"drum? I wouldn't go wacking off pieces on your bearing. There shouldn't be a reason to do so. It appears to be a run of the mill axle bearing. Every axle bearing I've ever ordered had that extra bit on the inner race.

Bearings: That nub is a locator for use with pillow blocks or cast flanges, they shouldn't give you any trouble with pressed flanges...

Swingarm: Wow, that looks a bit different...

Brake band: Once you fasten the other end, it should centre itself fine...

My bad - I also got the new 6" drum....

It just doesn't look like its all going to fit...

Now that could be a problem...

Problem is the nub interferes with the stock flange mating up to the outside of the bearing.

Would you/I assume that the extra "tab" on the new swingarm is for the other end of the brake band ?

Thanks !

Wow, I totaly missed what you were trying to show in that pic. I thought you were complaining about the larger width on the inner race. Stike my last comments. Pop that pimple! Is it a roll pin, or something that can be easily pulled?

Check the pic below, the arrow shows the mounting position for the band

Yep - thanks.

That's kind of what I was trying to say in my previous post.

Now to figure out how to get that locating pin out of my bearings....

It shouldnt matter that much at all. There is space between the two halves of the "bearing cups".
If it is a prob, just touch the bearing to the grinder, its not like this is going into a cast housing where it needs a perfect finish.
