Alright so I was just starting my ride to go have a rain run (so **** excited first rain run of the season!) and I was cruising down the street to go the trails. I got bored so I decided to floor it till I got there. I slowly accelerated and right when I got to max I hear a very loud BAM!! It scared the **** outa me and then the kart lost power. I got out and looked at the back and this is what I saw...
WTF!
The bolt that was holding on the sprocket blew apart and the sprocket went flying 20 ft. Luckily I found it. I pushed the back of the pulley back in place, but I can just push it out of alignment easily. Now I have to get ANOTHER key and go get a bolt that will fit. Does anyone know why the part inside the jackshaft keeps sliding and why the sprocket broke off?
This is what it is suppose to look like..
