Wrong size tires!

Sooo... this is a bummer.
I'm officially announcing this.
The previous owner of my kart put the wrong size wheels on the back.

I think they're supposed to be 12" in diameter, and he crammed on 13x5x6s.
By bending the axle and brake shaft away from each other.
I'm thinking that I should just slap some 4.10/3.50-5s on there after straightening everything, but does anyone else have a suggestion for a 12" tire size?
On the plus side, smaller and skinnier rear wheels will be more burnout-and-donuts-likely...
Also I plan to put 4 plies on front and back to replace the current 2 plies.

Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get a black iron pipe and 2 bolts. Make a new axle. Cut old one off and mount new one back a little further so the straightened brakes make good contact.

I mean I could, but I'd also need to do some welding.
I DO have a friend down the street willing to help me with welding, but I don't want to bother him too much. For one, I'd have to weld some washers as spacers, and I really don't feel secure just bolting it in.
But I will look into materials to make a new axle.
And URGH! I also just noticed that at least the rear right wheel also has NEGATIVE CAMBER!

And of course I would end up having to cut the old one out, but my friend down the street has tools for that too.

If you setup two large blocks of something that are the width of the wheel, then put the wheels on something slidey, then you could ram the go kart backwards, bending the axle back!

Yeah, I like the big tires too, but I won't let things stay bent if I can help it.
I was looking into a live axle kit, but they're all $200+!
So I'll probably get some solid 3/4 metal round stock at a hardware store, and make a new fixed axle a little farther back, that way I can have aligned rear wheels and also have a straight brake shaft. I'll see if I can get my grubby little fingers on a live axle kit, but if not, I'll just have to wait a little longer.

Well why don't you get rid of the scrub brakes while you are taking the axle out and put in some bands or discs? GPS has a disc brake kit for 60$.

And if you can source some cheap 1" live axle wheels....this is only 130$

I would like to keep the scrub brakes if possible as an emergency brake, but it's not mandatory.
Thanks for the link, I might do that and buy wheels when I have money. We'll see.

And it's a bonus that it's a 72T sprocket, 'cause I want TORQUE! I want burnouts, donuts, wheelies, and driftin'! All that good stuff.
So yeah, when I mod the Briggs, it'll probably be a torque build.
