this is the only pic I have from the day I got her.

now I got it for stupid cheap...

the frame near the engine had a crack all the way through and had warped from previous owners ignorance of it and continued use after the fact , but I had it brought back to shape and welded .

I drove it for a week or so , and picked up a much larger but oddly same engine , manco dingo 6gl ( thats a whole different story I will get into in another post ) , and then decided I needed more power.

so I picked up a 196 ducar , with billet flywheel and rod , 18lb springs , mikuni carb and a 3100 rpm spring ( comet clutch ) images of new engine and dingo with tecumseh next to it for (crappy) comparison lol

well , I REALLY didnt expect this ducar to put out the power it is... its legitimately scary lol.

now to figure out the dingo... it has a drive system issue that I am far too inept to properly diagnose... im very new to this lol....

... kinda curious how 'cheap' is 'stupid cheap'... did they pay you to take it?... :roflol:

AWESOME drag setup...fyi I say 'drag setup' (if the springs you speak of are in the Driver) only cause of the spring for the clutch. High rpm engine that more than likely has more hp/torque at a higher rpm. So engagement of acceleration at a closer to peak torque, equals a quicker hole shot... depending on traction. In other words... may whip your neck back no matter how gently you accelerate.

Whats the gearing/wheel size you got?

Kinda curious how the TAV will handle 'that' much hp... PLZ let us know if it eats/warps belts!

Yea... quite possibly the closest to an actual GX200 made... from what Ive seen/heard.

the fronts are 145/70 - 6 kenda knobbys , rears are 16 x 8.0 - 7 knobbys ( forgot brand but they are almost not knobbys anymore lol ) and as I said , im very new to this so I wouldn't know how to tell you the gearing lol , ill figure it out in my never ending reading

and stupid cheap is 100 bucks lol

Gotcha... gearing is 'count' the # of teeth on both the TC and the axle gears, then divide the axle# into the TC#. The product is the 'gearing/ratio'. Add a :1 after it, is how a ratio is written. Most commonly (on a yard kart) the axle will be a 60T and the TC will be a 10T which gives a 6:1 gearing/ratio.

The 16's are the wheels that will 'mathematically' equate to your speed. By using this, you can find out the 'calculated' topspeed that youll get. Mind you that due to certain 'laws of nature' like gravity/drag/weight, the calculated topspeed possibly wont be attained at 'higher' speeds... 40+mph, but will come close. So if you are running a 6:1 on 16's, and lets guesstimate your RPMs at 7500...ONLY guessing the governor is nonexistent on the engine... your 'possible' topspeed will be close to 60mph.

If I knew the gearing/weight/engine TOTAL specs(top RPMS mainly) , I could give a more accurate #.

I see a driver but no driven from this angle, maybe another set of pics will help you diagnosing the problem ;).

if you happen to have a Smartphone, you can do some calculations
with my webapp : http://kartcalc.net/
you can even save your karts details to your phone, and tach them with your GPS and the inApp speedometer. ;)
unfortunately I haven't had the time to finish the desktop version yet.

Sam, can we get a short video/sound clip of the exhaust on the other kart, please. I'd really like to hear how it sounds. Thinking about an exhaust like that......:rolleyes:

the quicksilver? or the dingo?

dingo just has a 20 dollar pipe , sounds mean and spits fire occasionally .

ducar has optional screw in silencer , and if the tecumseh sounds mean , then this one sounds like the devils father !.

just let me know which one to get a clip of lol

Ditch the master links and make a solid chain. The master links is the weakest part..... A solid chain = less down time, and less prone to messing up something else cause the link broke....
You should also try to see WHY the chain broke. Was there any flex somewhere that caused the 2 sprockets to line up at a specific side load, or was it just a crummy link...... ?

I wouldn't be surprised if flex was the issue lol , I was going pretty quick when it grabbed that dirt .. how do I go about making a solid chain

ok , so here is a quick video of both the tecumseh and the ducar.

I will have to wait for a friend to hold the camera to get moving video with better audio ( I apologize for the poor quality , and recommend a volume check ) , this was just in my garage lol , ill have some gopro videos soon

first the tecumseh ( dingo )

and the ducar ( quicksilver 2 ) , skip to around 12 seconds.
