what kind of a bit did you use for the dremel, and did you use a jig, or did you do it free hand?

Should be obvious.
He means use a micrometer to check straightness and dimensions of keyway in shaft.
I used a digital caliper.

Check to see if the two seemingly straight sections if the PTO really are straight, they might be common sizes.
