THANKS ALL
oo and i couldnt buy new rings becuase, well i have three diffrent engines and three diffrent piston ring sizes in (thickness) and they all share the same piston ring part numbers.

You now have a semi-diesel. Merry Christmas.

Jk, but you really do need new rings, not used ones

Could be valve guide's too. Go up a REALY steep hill. If it smokes under hard acceleration its the ring's. If it smokes under de-celeration it's the guide's.

Maybe you have a scratched cylinder or maybe the gap in your rings are in line?Oil flows easily through rings where the gaps are not opposite of each other. Hmmmmm, good question. Maybe someone put oil in your gas.

Make sure you have rings match the ID or your cylinder and your piston so you have hardly a gap when installed. Your gap might be too big being a 3.5 piston w/rings of the same piston.

I bet he has a wider gap. Maybe he will let us know later. Wouldn't hurt to replace them seals either.Anything larger than .004 would do it I bet. Doesn't take much with all that oil sloshin' around and getting caught in them rings.

Course it's going to smoke. You're taking the rings from another engine and putting it in a whole new engine. Place the rings (take off piston) into the cylinder, note the gap.

Rings are like $15 on eBay. If this is an aluminum bore and has been used for some time, you might be checking into the oversize piston/rings.

Sure it might need a boring, but that doesn't mean you should stick with a stock piston + rings and have a hugearse gap.

If using a honer to bore out I dont think your bore would be very straight. somone said they wanted to bore like that before and I recomended not doing it then Russ chimed in and said same.

What I mean is if you start undersized by a thou and do the final thou with a hone till the piston fits the piston/bore slop will be tighter and the motor will perform better(better piston-jug heat transfer). If you take in a jug and tell em to bore it to X its not gonna be perfect.
