I currently have a two speed jack shaft set up on my go kart. I'm running a modified gx160 probaly pushing up to 9 or 10 hp with 16 tall inch tires. I smoked my clutch today trying to get out of a small ditch. I'm wondering if i shoud get a tav30 for my kart or cvt in general? im running a 61 tooth gear on the axle.

Series 30 would work just fine. With a 61tooth gear on the axle given its 1/2 in pitch i'd run a 10 or 11 tooth sprocket on the jackshaft.

Yeah, BMI seems to be selling those very reasonable. The clutches don't seem bad. Yeah, you'll be fine once you get the torque converter.
