What's this worth

I picked up this go kart about a month ago. It had 4 flat tires, rusty chain and brake disk. I change the oil. Replaced the clutch (bought a $25.00 clutch). Replaced the brake disk, brake pads and chain. All 4 tires hold air.

I took it out for a spin around the block and it seems to run good. (I have nothing to compare it to thought.)

The problem is that I'm running out of room for my toys and I don't know of any place nearby to legally drive it. Another minor problem is that my f*rtbox is a little too big for the seat.

What do y'all suppose this kart is worth.

how much do you have invested in it?

I paid $350 for the kart. $25.00 for the clutch, $30.00 for the disc, $10.00 for the brake pads, $20.00 for the chain. $7.00 for o-rings for the rims. Plus about $50.00 for oil and misc hardware.

I guess that equals about $500.00

I don't race carts so I couldn't tell ya, knowing what exactly is in that motor would effect it. Look around on ebay.

From where I am, that one right there could fetch you a pretty penny, somewhere around 7-$800 maybe, if you could get someone to buy it.

I believe they start it with a portable electric starter.

Or a removable recoil, yes. Stick it on, and pull. Basically the recoil shroud with the recoil cut off...

Well I think oscar is right. Cause you can still see the square shaft for the re-coil. The portable electric starters we use in drag racing use's a 3/4 socket. And That's only a pretty much stock engine so I think it would be easy enough to pull start.

I start it with a recoil starter. It's pretty easy to pull and takes about 6-7 pulls to start it.

Once it starts, the recoil comes off. I guess it gives me about 0.01 more HP.

Actually, you probably save more. The seal on the starter clutch is quite... strong. I've had a few older ones seize on me from overheating (no oil left in them, all dry)...

Oh- don't be modest. You did one from the ground up.... VERY COOL. I think KibbleKart is a good label for those things. ...and that fly-by-wire throttle is killer. I HATE having to rig throttles.

My nephews (years 8 and 11) are coming next weekend. I found an office park nearby that is somewhat secluded, and empty on the weekends. I'm planning on heading there on Sat. evening and Sun morning.

they take the recoil starter off for a safety reason so it doesn't unwind and get caught around the axle or something
