How do I know if I would be considered street legal? I have a predator 212 mounted on a kids electric atv frame That has the plastic body to a power wheels on top. Would this be street legal? I have a horn do I need lights and blinkers?

Not even close to being street legal in any State or even third world country!
It’s off topic but that’s what the forum is for 😉. Would you happen to know if a ridding lawnmower would be able to be street legal? I plan on pulley swapping it to go a little faster.

No. Street legal is darn shy of impossible for all karts’nstuff. Here in NC you can make a factory built SXS street legal. Other than that, just about nothing.

The only things street legal around me are those small 2 stroke (79cc) or <750watt electric bicylces. Anything else requires registration, insurance, licenses and the rest of fun the sucking regulations.

I wouldn’t be into karts or mini bikes if I was stuck to trails or worse stuck to THE YARD.. When I was 12 my 5hp gokart was good fun for endless laps around my small yard. I‘d quickly loose Interest doing laps around the yard today.

Running them all around the back county like there small cars is just fun. Racing around with my pops on any random street. And going miles away from home with no cell just a small toolbox and tow rope.

We ROLL RACE pedal to the floor side by side. And my pops starts to pull away. He can slightly let off I catch up and then he punches it again and dusts me.. If he gives me the jump it’s a **** of a race! We’re even three telephone poles THEN he pulls away. He has the fresh engine and mine looks like this..
Edit: I sometimes jump on purpose.. Pedal floored it won’t give me anymore he’s not far behind.. slowly reeling me in and most times he does get past me and stay there. F94563A0-1CB1-46D0-BF7B-90E71CF3FF97.png

I bought a 1984 h50cc 5 speed Yamaha Special motor cycle in 1991 off of a friends older brother for $250. Thing was damn near mint! Didn't have a registration for it, but somehow the State let me register it as a moped. I was whipping around on that thing till I turned 16 and bought a car. Then I sold it for $500 and a RC10GT. Wish I never sold it!!!! 🤣

DUDE!?!🤮
That thing needs the deck and valve heads scraped and cleaned, the stems probably need cleaned up and polished, a hone job, and new rings in the worst way.
I unlocked it (breaking two flywheel fins) put oil in it and put it on the first red kart for a year with no hour meter. Then I put it on the streaker with an hour meter and have 17.4 hours of seat time. It really doesn’t even smoke. So no need for a rebuild yet.

It is 100% impossible for 95% of ANYTHING DIY built to be legitimately "street legal" due to the lack of a MOS certificate (Manufacturers Origin Statement)
This does not apply to body swapped chassis because the donor frame and chosen body will both have one on file registered to their VIN#
This does not apply to kit cars because again the donor frame receiving the kit body will have one already, and if I am not mistaken kit bodies have one of their own and those vehicles most often get registered differently.
This does not apply to ANY vehicle that pre-dates the NHTSA mandate for standardized Vehicle Identification. That means all cars/trucks built before 1954, and all motorcycles/mopeds built before 1980 only excluding Harley Davidson because they started doing it in 1970 before the NHTSA included motorcycles and Mopeds.

With the history and law aspects out of the way... there are ways to loophole or otherwise just be ignored and left alone as long as you aren't being a reckless road hazard.

First and foremost it depends on the temperment of your local LEO's in general; as in how big is the stick up their @sses and how by the book do they play it?

Second is do you live in a city, or small town? Small towns tend to not bother anyone that isn't a danger to themselves or others, being reckless, or being a public nuisance.

The best way to be "safe" but overlooked is to go "full federal" unfortunately as small as your toy truck is trying not to be noticed will get you dead, and trying to be seen will most probably get you sent home with a warning at least once.

Full federal would be easy[ISH] because you have handlebars to rig it up with prefab motorcycle bar controls with; You'd need DRLs (daytime running lights), a headlight(s) (not the same as DRL unless you have Hi/Low function wired accordingly), running tails, turn signals, 4way switch would be smart but not actually required, a horn, a brake light(s) and an emergency shut off in immediate easy reach.

This will all require a reliable battery (power wheels Lion or SLA won't last long before they don't hold a charge) and at that rate you may as well pull the flywheel off and drop in a charging coil set (may or may not require a 3rd party regulator-rectifier)

Due specifically to its small size a fiberglass whip with a HiVis safety flag would be extremely advisable, and maybe some reflector tape to to use on the bumpers to add visibility in the event your lights fail.

That about covers it I think, you can DM any inquiries if you want. My build has full federal.
