It didnt have an air filter when I bought it, I should probably get one of those.
Anybody have an ebay link to a briggs 135212 5hp air filter adapter? (The adapters for the cool angled air filters)

I'm currently trying to get a job for the summer so I can get more money, but being 15 makes it hard.

Where do you live? I'm 15 and I'm working for the forest service this summer, YCC. It's 8 weeks, 40 hours a week. And, it means that I'm a government employee so I'm entitled to not do any work :D jk

Those are no longer available for our Pulsa Jet carbs. If they are, then they're buried deep in the interwebz like an Alabama tick.

I got my Briggs air filter adapter/velocity stack from FiremanJim after months stuck in development limbo. :p

See this thread and post #23 I believe: www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=33936... and hassle FMJ for your own.

You can alternatively make your own out of a PVC end cap, filed or sanded perfectly flat on the bottom and drilled for the opening and screw holes.

Also do I need to make threads on the outside, or do I just use a hose clamp?

Hi Jim!

I think you need a cap wide enough to cover the carb throat, the flange and then some, so 2 inch ought to do it. A lot of end caps have molded writing and logos on them so that's why I mentioned sanding it so you'll have a good seal.

Ditch the white PVC and go for snazzy black ABS...

Maybe neon yellow

---------- Post added at 01:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:25 PM ----------

And well your at it get some neon spay paint for that sucker. Makes it faster + chicks from every direction :D

Can't say no to that :D

And if you want to make it even faster get some Walmart stickers and slap them all over that neon paint to help with wind drag.

If you want more HP get a racing suite that matches your paint job :D

That's got to add at least 7 hp.

Another chick magnet trick: Always fold your money if half, it looks like you have more. :D

If you really want to impress the ladies, show them how thoughtful you are of women, and carry a few tampons on your ride.

What's a tampon? Whoa, hold it! Thread's been hijacked!

Those hijackers nearly got me.

Zoomy: when you get the ABS/PVC end cap, measure the OD (outside diameter) then search the interwebz for a cone air filter which has an inside diameter that is the same, nearly the same but preferably smaller (with a rubber collar).

That will ensure a tight fit to your makeshift adapter. Secure with a hose clamp and there you have it.
