What model briggs is this?

I got this engine from a friend of mine. There is no carburetor , and the engine shroud is gone. I took the head of so I could inspect the cylinder, looks fine.
I hope that you can help identify this engine. The bore is 70,5mm in diameter (2.775 inches)

I'm guessing its from a rotor tiller because it has two driveshafts, but I could be wrong.

thats crazy lol. Makes me wonder if the main shaft is the crank and the other is probably attached to, or is the camshaft? Never seen that before.

The bigger one is the crank and the smaller is the camshaft, and it looks like a older Briggs and Stratton 5hp

extended camshaft. They are sometimes uses as reverse on rototillers and snowblowers.

the small shaft does turn in the opposite direction. Maybe i could use it as a reverse gear on a gokart or something similar?

I don't know if i will use this engine, It is missing some parts and the crankshaft is a bit damaged.

But the bore is pretty big

I have another 5 hp briggs and the manual says the bore is 65.09 mm (2.562 inches)

Mine has that, it's a reverse gear. Mine was on a tiller. I have everything to hook it up too but I don't want to.

Doug, with the head off, wouldn't it be easier to set the piston at BDC (Bottom Dead Centre) & measure the height of the cylinder wall?

I measured it today and it was around 47.61mm (1.8735 inches)
So its probably small than 5hp

From what little I have seen....that stroke is too short...5 hp should be about 2 1/8"....

Could be a 4hp?

Maybe someone can give a more definite answer....

It could be a 4 horse, but I have no idea what the stroke on that one would be.
