yes, your my1020 or my1050 is a brushed motor.
a brushless motor has at least one more lead (A,B,C)
and all are being positive, zero and negative depending on the rotation of the motor shaft.
so the controller needs to take care of that..
very different, and more complex than a brushed motor controller.
still possible to DIY, but I doubt you want to try
