Yes, exactly one relay to switch forward and reverse is needed.

i have to explain how the controller works and i have to show the schematic but can't find it anywhere...

i also have to find a schematic if i wanted to make a motor controller myself.
i've already read some threads on this forum and seached a lot on the internet but can't seem to find anything usefull , can you help ?

ebikethaikit put some effort into this and opened up a 36V-350W yk31c controller and drew the schematics


your controller should be very much alike...

I think you should identify the individual parts and their ratings to see what needs to be changed for lower voltage and higher amperage
Main reason: if you get asked what the LM339 is you'll know
Or you could open up yours and spot the differences

Not if you want to do it right

it's about 40 parts on a pcb.. not too much trouble.
most of which are resistors or caps...

learn about the rest and you'll see it's not too complicated at all

i ordered the yk31c brushed but is my motor brushed ? what's the difference between a brushed and not brushed concerning the controller?

can i use this scematic ?

yes, your my1020 or my1050 is a brushed motor.

a brushless motor has at least one more lead (A,B,C)
and all are being positive, zero and negative depending on the rotation of the motor shaft.
so the controller needs to take care of that..
very different, and more complex than a brushed motor controller.

still possible to DIY, but I doubt you want to try

i'm currently working on making my own controller.
i'm using an arduino to generate a PWM , this signal goes to a HIP4081 wich controls N-channel mosfets ( for the H bridge).

but i'm looking for a plan B in case it doesn't work.

got a simply idea i could make in case it doens't work ?
