I usually drink it or cook with it.

Or I fill up a few 5 gallon buckets worth and drive to a mechanics shop to give it to them.

i find a nice peice of untouched wetlands to pour it in

or i take it to work and put in in the waste oil tank

im sure the council will have set up a place to dump it like down at the tip somewhere
or take it to a workshop

Unfortunately we don't have any organised collection point for this type of waste, including old gas. I like the idea of going to a mechanic shop though. They would probably sort it out for me

They may charge u

It costs a helluva lot to get taken away

We dispose of hundreds of litres daily so anoughter 15 lt is nothing

But a small shop might mind

Ive found I can use it to harden some steel for a knife... Long as it snaps off instead of bending. :D

I thought they might. I am going to see what they say. Hopefully it isn't too much

I can't say I am in need of knife hardening, but I will keep that in mind :D

Advance and Autozone (auto-parts stores) in the US take it for free. Not sure if you have anything like that in S. Africa, though.

I dont think you guys have a Jiffy Lube in South Africa, but that is where I took my oil. They will take it as long as it isnt mixed with gas or water or anything.

Look on the internet and make some phone calls to see if your community has a hazardous waste day. My area had one a few years ago and My dad and I took in all of our old paint cans. They might take oil and gas as well, but you would have to check.

Awfull easy, they way I understand it... if you dont know if the metal is any good, heat it till non-magnetic, quench it in warm oil. Stick it in a vise and if it snaps it should make a decent blade... if it bends... well not so good.

Im going to try my hand at making a knife(or knives). Probably post the results too.

Just dump it out behind the shop.

Sometimes, I take it to the waste oil collection center at our local waste transfer station.

Yah if you dump it along the outside wall it will keep weeds from growing up the shop wall. LOL

You nailed it! If it was good 'nuff fer my pappy, it's good 'nuff fer me. 'Sides, the back of the shop is closer and easier to get to, for me, than the wetlands in the back of the property. Just too lazy, I guess. Hehehe

U could do that
We do it on the farm to keep the love grass down

But if u get caught it is worst than murder

And if u do it too much it messes up all plants in the nere area
