i went out with my buddy today (it was a blast, a 125 4 stroke is faster than i thought!) but near the end of a 2 hour long ride (i was pushing the limits on the baja lol) the carb started leaking, bad... i replaced the fuel line yesterday, because the old one was rotten out (and also leaked before this) . it stops leaking when i shut the fuel off. and when i try to gun it (started, and fuel on) it back fires, like its really rich (it sounds like its coming from the airfilter, not the exhaust) but 60% of time it runs great! im thinking its a stuck float. any other ideas? ill try to fix it tomorrow, see if that solves it, in the mean time. anything else i should do?

Yeah, sounds like a float problem. The old float I pulled out of my Briggs flathead had a big DENT in it that looked like it was caused by brute force. Still puzzled, since the guy I bought the kart from says he built the kart with his brother as kids. Says he never changed the air filter(ugh), so I don't think he ever disassembled the carb, but I could be wrong. It was also missing a carburetor body gasket. Check your carb very carefully, could also be some kind of busted seal.

thats the wierd part, everything looks new. the seals look fine, i replaced them just incase. i got it to a point where it only leaks if i shake it (like a glass of water) im still confused on why it leaks, :surrender: ive done everything i could to it. im just going to leave it as is, ill probobaly replace it soon.

Now THAT's weird. You're probably taking the safe route by just replacing it. At first I wanted to replace my Briggs updraft carburetor. Then I found out that an OEM carb is about $90 on Ebay.
