Well, I got myself another kart yesterday...

I'll post pics either tonight or tomorrow. It needs a little work, but I got the kart with good wheels and band brakes, and two 5hp Briggs motors (one with a cent. clutch). One needs a diaphram and the other it suppose to be worn out. If it is worn out, at least I have a parts motor now. Lord knows I needed a new recoil. Anyhow, I got it off craigslist for $40.

now if I can just get the stupid tiller pulley off of the shaft!!! !grrr, this gets aggrivating. I tried a gear puller with no luck and the hex screw in the side is stripped. any suggestions ? also, I haven't looked at the numbers on the orange otor yet, but just just by looking at it, could someone guess at an age range ? I know it's older than the one's that I usually see just from the recoil housing.

Put the puller back on with some good pressure on it and then heat the pulley up and it should pop off.

I'll try that this evening.... and I'll make sure to use minimal heat so I don't melt the seal. Glad you mentioned that Tyler or I would have melted it for sure. :arf:

i thought heat makes metal expand thats the way it was trying to get a broken cast bolt out of a cast head on my car

You heat the hub not the axle in turn expanding the hub making it easier to remove.
