You definitely can weld with a torch (not the British kind) and coat hanger. My dad was a shipyard welder for a while and that was one method he taught me when I was first starting out.

oxy acetalin, coat hanger, and boraxo powder hand soap. thats how I learned to weld.

I recon with acetylene about to become really scarce, sadly people might not want to take a pic of them welding with coat hangers I know I wouldn't if I had an O/A kit. Too bad u cant weld with propane.

Here's a mental picture, Useing the welding tip on your torch, not the cutting head. Heat your rod (coat hanger) but not red hot, dip it in the boraxo it will stick and become your flux. heat your joint to be welded to form a little puddle and add your rod to it just like tig welding.

Acetylene factory explosion. Look it up. One of the four in the states IIRC.

NOT an acetylene factory. The factory produced calcium carbide which is used in the production of acetylene. There are other acetylene factories.
