Welded axle questions

I have someone who wants my axle and sprocket.
The axle is tack welded to the frame.
Is there an easy way to remove the welds to free the axle?
Or is there more to it than just that? I took the bolts out already.

It looks like the axle hangers are welded to the frame. The axle itself should slide out of them.

Looks like it but up close you can see the spot welds.

I am sorry, but i still see spot welds on the hanger. There is nothing welded on the axle itself. The axle goes through a bearing that is held by the hanger. There is no weld on the axle itself

Edit: The circled areas in the pic are the hanger. The axle will slide through the bearing which is held by the hanger

Yea I'm aware of that! I meant how do I get the axle off?

Here's an even bigger picture so you understand fully what I am asking.

Take off the wheel hubs, losen the sprocket hub, taje the locking collars off, and slide the axle out. You will probably have to clean the axle up (wire brush or brill pad) and spray some penitrating oil (pb blaster etc.) And work it back and forth, but it should just slide out.

Clearly in the middle pic....I see you haven't loosen the allen headed set-screws....those need to be loosened.....better yet removed !!!

Then shoot PB Blaster on both sides of those collars and in the holes where the set screws were....

As mentioned, wire brush the axle, and work those collars free....

BTW: You were obsessing on those welds...and were not asking how the axle was removed.....at least not at first....that shouldn't hinder the removal....(although it doesn't make it any easier...

Well...if you look....the 1/2 of the clamshell bearing carrier..is welded to the frame....

Normally, this would be bolted to another plate welded to the frame with a slot in the bottom.....(unbolt the carrier halves....and the axle will drop straight down without moving any of the collars).....Soooo...yeah....it does make it more difficult....but doesn't keep you from removing the axle....

It's that someone short-cutted a mounting plate...and used a bearing housing instead......not as bad as welding to the axle, but still a needless PITA.....

The OP was not understanding that the acle is not welded on.
Maybe by now its understood.
