About once every millennium I get lucky and things go as hoped! Today was that day!
The engine from the above wreck was given a few minutes of attention, to see if it is worthy of one of the coveted indoor storage spots to wait out its calling. After a little cleaning and field mouse habitat destruction this happened!

Oh nice. But those Kindasucki V-twins are the one you want . Single cylinder would be my second choice though over Krohler or Briggs.
She sounds very healthy. Thanks for the video, kind Sir.

Mud mower build?
Naw! The NAG (naughtagator) has a ancient briggs flathead. It runs fine on 60psi compression and an occasional few ounces of oil. Im looking for an emergency backup.
The NAG is the workhorse of the maintnance department here @ MTL.
It is a major inconveniance when it is out of service. I might just rering the FH this winter.
Now i gots options.
I dont need more power. I dont ever go more than several hundred off idle anyhooo!

Looks like you got a nice vertical shaft engine there. If you can adapt it to where little fatty is now ( and I'm sure you can ) you can add even more STUFF to the Nag. Probably even tow a trailer full of more stuff. Nice low rpm grunt.

Theres not much to adapt (famous words).
I'll be replacing a 12 hp vertical with a 14 hp.
The engine has to be vertical cuz the transaxle also has a vertical shaft so a bit of #40 chain a coupla sprockets and time and more time, and there it is. I really have everything in there for normal maintnance around the vast MTL campus.
I guess Hellion will be dissapointed in the pic quantity. If this is going to cause undue stress
I could take a few. But the "uniqueness" and purpose built nature of this finely crafted collection of scrap metal and discarded parts, makes it of little or no intrest to anyone normal!
