Does anyone know of a similar transaxle set-up that is manual? I mean, a stupid fast car with an auto is cool, but a stupid fast car with a manual is just awesome.

Looks a hell of alot better than my new '62 Plymouth project.

Auto takes half the fun out of a fast car.

There might be a custom racing transaxle out there that would work, probably cost $10000. The TH-425 uses a lot of TH-400 parts, I wouldn't doubt it if you could make a manual valve body from a 400 work, this would be better for drag racing anyways.

This is just awesome. I also like the geo metro that someone posted on here a few months ago with a '79+ Toronado front stub with its Olds V-8 welded in the back! I would love to build something like this.


I would like to stick a 455 or caddy 500 in the back of a Corvair

Or possibly use a modern FWD caddy with a Northstar V-8

I was looking at a normal looking astro-van at a swap meet 2 years ago. It was so normal looking that I had walked by it once and thought it was a vendor's car. The second time it had a sign pointing to the 454 BIG BLOCK mounted in the middle of the van! LOL To no suprise the back tires were BALD.... LMAO

The cool thing about the northstar is it uses the "metric" AKA 60* v6 bolt pattern with a different starter location, so the fastest way to find transmissions is to go to the junkyard and throw a rock. I always though a TT northstar (with studded head bolts!) would be a badass powerplant.

Great, that means they will also bolt up to an s-10 T5 transmission
