vertical to horizontal engine

Ok so let me start with my idea. What I want to do is hook up a 3.5hp vertical engine to my go kart. Is this possible? I do not have a big budget for this so a cheap alternative would be great. I am not able to identify the engine in it so I took a few pics here is the link.

well obviously a 3.5hp Briggs and Stratton Quantum Power
The exact Model number is stamped above the spark plug or over the exhaust.

should also start with 11 since I believe that's a 179ccm engine (or 11 cui)

well, search on YT for "horizontal conversion" you'll find several videos

well, the bad news is.. the cheapest predator (or rato or clone or original GX...) I could find in Canada was 200 incl shipping...

So yeah, if you find another engine (any gx200 series or clone will do maybe gx160 even)
for cheap, then go for it, much nicer than a modded vertical engine...

if that's an option that is

If you have the tools and the possibilities to convert such an engine to a horizontal shaft, I'd go for it. You'll learn a lot from the engine internals, how everythings works, etc. Sounds like a cool project, if you're up to.
