This has definately run its course. Bluethunder, you have made several references to your "low power" welder. That means nothing, but clearly you don't get that. You also don't get that we are telling you the things that we are, because we know better. PERIOD! I was a professional welder, in the field- not controlled environments- and you'd be frigging amazed what will ignite! I blew off more fire extinguishers than I could ever count. AND- sometimes it's hard to detect flames behind you while wearing a welding mask, knowutimean, Vern?

But whatever. You seem to know better. I do honestly wish you good luck- I never want to see anyone harmed. Odds are even that everything will be okay. Not guaranteed, though.

HOWEVER- That ventilation fan you have is very interesting- who makes it?

There was nothing off topic here, cool your jets.

A very good point was made a few posts ago, you don't have school on weekends do you? This gives you more than enough time to set up outside, you've bragged about how its a small welder, man up and move it when need be.

I never said you couldn't assemble things down there, my only suggestion would be to grind/weld outside which doesn't really mean you need to carry a roller of tools up there.

That is a poor excuse.

As I put at the beginning of this thread... build a welding kart, that is covered, and just leave it upstairs... Im sure you could find a closet or something(ie your bedroom) to put it... Just use Non-Marring wheels... Its not impossible to weld in the snow. Just keep your hands dry, and try to shovel a square around you(electricity+*lots* of water, dont mix, but not the end of the world)...

Admin, might it be a good idea to lock this, before an incident occurs? Thanks.

:iagree: most of my welding will be done outside anyways but i am yet to find out how well it works in the basement because its not suitable yet.
