I don't know how much this helps because everyone seems to be going this way but FB integration isn't all that important most kids like me and many on the forum don't really share go-kart stuff with others not many FB friends would really care much but if its there who knows maybe a few people could make a separate DIYGK page for people to like and discuss on although that's what this site is for haha

well folks, I'm going to do some upgrading around here, finally. First choice, is taking this forum from VB3 to vbulletin4. Most reviews I've read have been mixed at best about VB4.

I'm strongly considering a xenforo solution. It's very intuitive and I'm digging the demo I'm using.

Questions:

- Anyone got a favorite software?

This one ticks all the boxes for me, ecxept the search function doing its "or" thing when you type in multiple words. (what am I doing wrong??)

- On other forums, how important is facebook integration?

Not at all.

As others have said, I wouldn't want to share all the stuff I say on here with my friends.

- How important is mobile access to you?

Very.

One more thing, something I love about this forum is how quick it loads. Given just how slow my internet is(have a look here for my speed test results), there's many forums I don't visit simply because they take to long to load.

Thanks

Hayden

1. I'm partial to the vbulletin software due to widespread adoption and thus, familiarity. Also, easy integration with tapatalk (relates to Q3) which I've already purchased.

2. What is facebook?

3. Very. I purchased tapatalk for access to forums on my phone (browsing the website on a small touchscreen is not as easy - have to zoom and often the screen reads the wrong touchpoint, harder to read, etc).

I've found other forum software to be generally lacking from a user experience POV. This seems to be the most robust software out there.... Just MHO.

I could give a crap about the "skin". It looks fine to me, easy on the eyes, it works, etc. The only thing I find really annoying which I'd like to see changed right now, is the width. It's so narrow - on mobile phones, I always have to zoom in to have the page fill the screen.

The iPhone hates this software
It will crash in long posts and sometimes in short ones

Will we get more emotions in the new software? On a couple of other forums I am part of (oldminibikes) there are welding and grinding emotions...

Would be cool to have it here.

EDIT: sorry stupid question
