Dont have much to say regarding the charge pipe, im yet to figure one out for my project.. Tho, that copper return pipe looks a tad small for a return?
Thanks for the concern, if the turbo was used to it's full capacity, and fed 40+psi oil pressure from an automobile engine, I would be concerned.
But I am only feeding it 3-4 psi at low volume, and low shaft speeds, so I think it will be adequate. I used the same return line on my turbo kohler command vtwin, and it went well. Plus , I don't think you plan on liquid cooling yours, neither mine, so are we really doing it by the book?
I like the top return... Pour that oil right over the crank and rod bearing.
The line might look tiny, but that's a tiny turbo... Looks hardly bigger than my fist.
That was the idea. Its a cute lil thing. This engine never had a mechanical governor, so the hole is cast over, I drilled the return right over the rod journal.
Sorry got lots of stuff going on.
I had to fabricobble a m10x1.25 to 1/8 npt adapter, because that was unobtainium. Placed at the back, cause the oil dipper throws oil that way. Sourced some heavy duty clamps and transmission cooler line.
Got the cooler bracket sorted, the charge pipe will run under it.
I got in some fancy parts for another build, so thats the objective rn.
