It's my own fault at the end of the day, I went out and bought lots of components without really understanding the principles. Think I'll stick with the plans and see what happens. Would it matter if the front wheels are wider than the rears?

What the hell, ... you actually have seen this site fast?
Hell, .. my screen times out, 1/4 of the time because I have to wait so long and I have a high speed cable connection. I thought it was the norm that this place had slow servers.
Slow or not, ... it's nice to have this place around.

I've been working on the steering rack mount today, with thanks to Mikko for the rack 
Fabricated a simple bracket from some 2.5mm plate, welded to the cross member which I'll weld in place once I'm happy with the location. The rose joints line up nicely with the wishbone axis points, so hopefully that's the rack problem solved. Thanks to all those that helped me with this, it was very nearly the straw that broke the camels back in this project. A couple of pics...

Very Nicely done. Do you have the boots for the rack?
Thanks Bill, it was a nice job to do. I do have the boots, just had them off while I was working out the width. There were two aluminium bushes in between the rose joints and the rack which I removed to reduce the width a little more. Made a start on one of the wishbones today, now that's a tricky job.

Ahhhh, ... The wishbones.
Just clamp the heck out of it along with getting the fattest lady you can find to sit on it. The real trick is to try to find a spot to weld!
With that many clamps blocking your way, ... well you get the point.

Got one wishbone welded up and it wasn't too bad, although I spent quite a lot of time making a jig which really helped. I have another question for you all though. My plan at the moment is to weld a small plate over the open end of the wishbone with a tapped hole and then weld a nut onto that for the track rod ends (clevis joints in my case but you get the idea). The track rod end will then screw into both for some added strength. My question is, are coarse threads OK or should I really be using fine? The reason I ask is that the track rod ends I have are coarse and it would be awkward to exchange them for fine.
