Id go with 2 5.5 inch pullys goin into the 6:1 sprocket ratio that should be good.

yea 5" pulleys would be good, 4's would do but i would just get 5's to be safe. Surplus center has some cheap pulley.

And get a stiff *** spring for the clutch and your gona want a double pully set up so it grabs good.

there ya go the two black pullys is a double clutch system it pretty much twists the belts around them two pullys then its pulls pretty hard

What pulleys can I use to get a 6:1 ratio? I was think 2 Inch on the engine and 12 inch on the axle but it goes a agianst your advice.

I would go with a 5inch to 5 inch pully then go with the gear reduction in a jackshaft to sprocket and chain.

Id keep the jackshaft set up and run it how i told ya thats how im runnin my mower stuff. 5 to a 5 with double pully clutch and then some type of ratio in chain to the axle

Alright cool just remember use some springs that are stiff as all hell for as little slip as possible to launch!

How about 35lbs of tension on the belt?

Ok then I guess a clutch lever instead of a pedal will be needed

na i would make a pedal, it cant be more resistance then the clutch on say my truck. (not hydrolic or nothin fancy lol

Lol that would be only slightly hard to pull and i think the linkage would break eventualy
