When I built my first "kart", my wife said the same thing! LOL! They look good. Keep tweaking and posting the vids!
Wingnut - We got our seats from Jegs. We also have a blue and red seat cover for each kart. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/KeywordSearchCmd?storeId=10001&catalogId=10002&langId=-1&Nty=1&Ntx=mode+matchboolean&Ntk=PartType_x&N=0&Ntt=^seat^
Quick question..... my rear tires/axle seem to shake/vibrate at all? Mine does.... just trying to find out why so I can fix it.
bent axle probably. you always want to have your axle sprocket as close to a bearing as possible for support so your axle doesn't flex.
Hey jdh, yeah.... there is "something" kinda floppy about the rear end. Even with heavy duty 1.25" pillow bearings.... it's almost like those aluminum hubs that "clamp" to the axle just aren't heavy duty enough. Our big 25" tires kinda bounce all over right now.... AND one of the keys slid out of the keyway already... even after I tightened the *&^$% out of the allen bolt. I did some research on better solid-hubs for 1.25" axles... but I just can't find any that will work for 4" bolt patterns. Henry and I first jacked up the rear end, and re-centered the acorn nuts and wheels on the hubs and re-tightened the nuts... hoping the problem was that a hub was off-center... but it doesn't seem that much better. I'll keep you posted on any solutions! Keep up the good work... it's been about 96 degrees and humid here for a few weeks... and I'm sure we'll be "losing weight" out in the barn on Saturday. Rock and Roll!

Thanks all! I will look into it. We have too small of a torque converter on ours now, so I have to change the back end around a bit anyway..... I will see what I can do to move the sprocket closer to the bearing.
I haven't done any measuring, but I told my brother it looks like there is a curve in the back axle when there is weight on it. I will have to give it a shot.
Let me know if you find new hubs and if so, how they work out for you.
Ignore this post..... couldn't find another way to change from weekly notifications to instant (even though I have it set to instant in my settings)..... this should change it hopefully.
OK, our new torque converter showed up. The new torque converter is HUGE compared to the 30 series we tried to get away with. I may have to redesign the back end. I was looking at your pics for some ideas. Do you have a way to tighten the chain? I didn't see a way, but maybe I am missing it? OR, perhaps you just have a chain idler to take up the slack as the chain stretches?
For starters I would start a new thread on your issue.
And start with make/model of your kart and what you have done to it thus this far.. pics go a long way on here.
Good luck.
Sorry, not trying to hijack this thread. ArachnidBrosMN know who I am and have been following my thread. We have the exact same build. I figured I would see how they accomplished certain things and vice~versa. I mentioned a vibration issue and they did too. I figure the best place for troubleshooting it is in this thread.
If ArachnidBrosMN want a new thread started for that, then I will consider it, otherwise I am looking for information on the exact same build.
hey them shocks that you used, how much suspension traval do you have?how much traval can the suspension it self have without binding?
