Yea, they usually get frozen rusted on. You can try using heat or just jump to cutting it off. Do you have an air compressor, die grinder and cut off wheels?

started to try the heat BUT lube i sprayed is flammable gas tank close by not sure i want to try it haha, the key way slid right out .....

got it now too figure out the axle disassembly
remove nut pull axle out huh ?

Look for set screws. Also use lots of heat and remove the valve cores from the tires so you don’t accidentally blow one up and injure yourself! Lots of heat and PB Blaster.

thanks i have it all apart noticed the engine is not sitting right so checking it out now BEFORE north east Tx. turns into a oven on bake. I'm 58 and had quad bypass in march cant do the heat too much

Almost found that out the hard way on that B&S Flatty... loosened the set screw and it was still stuck pretty good but it started moving and came off

i kept my puller on it tight, hammered lightly it finally came off, got the drive pulley off so need my parts now

I’m almost 56 going on 9, I feel for you man. But you will get to feeling better.

Hey von, take your time. It's a hobby and a past time, not a race. No go kart is worth risking your health. I feel lucky in that my health is still sort of O K. But
I am 74 years old and some days for a number of reasons I just have to take it easy, can't do it or can't get as much done as I would have liked to. About 5 years ago I gave up working on hot rods and antique cars which had been my hobby for the previous 30 years because it just got to physically hard. Figured working on karts would fit my lifestyle better, and it has. I really enjoy building the little engines and seeing how much power I can squeeze out of them.

this hasn't turned hobby ..yet.. i got the kart free so i can sink some bucks into it me and the grandkids ( 11 ) can have fun BUT i like to metal detect me and the wife like to take the camper to the lake. my heart seems to be ok but having lung issues go monday to see whats going on Probably end up on disability.... so be it im good
