Hey everyone, so I know there has been a little bit of talk about putting a turbo on a Briggs. However, most of these discussions never got to a conclusive answer so I figured why not try to get to the bottom of this.

Here's my simple theory on how it should work (I know there are probably a lot more factors, which I hope you guys could mention to me)

You have your turbo mounted a little distance away from your motor, have a piece of tubing run from your exhaust to the inlet that spins the turbine wheel and on the business side of the things you have a piece of tubing running from your compressor wheel's outlet straight into your carb.

Is this a possibility? I know it's easier said than done (there would need to be some form of lubrication for the turbo being pumped through) but I just want to get the jist of things here.

Could you possibly put a turbo like this on one? It's pretty small

Yup. we've been turbo/super charging things since the mightiest of WW2 planes.

IT Will work. but you can't just hook it straight up to the carb, you have to build a box that the carb goes inside of, and that box gets pressurized. Also a blow off valve/check valve.

and last but not least.. you don't really need one, but a an intercooler.. so you can get some COOL air.

Hmmmm....what do you mean by a "box" on the carb?

And what about lubrication? Does the oil line hookup on a turbo suck oil into it or is it gravity fed?

It's gravity feed oil pipes on the top of the turbo lubercates the bearing and poors out of the bottom of the turbo and goes back into the oil pan of container, it worked way better with pressure though

That would have to be one tiny turbo.....

I can probably find one and it depends on what Hp and what size Briggs is he using

Here is a video of a go kart with a honda 13hp gx390 with a draw through carb setup, it used to have a blow through but he switched to draw though

Watch as it starts up look at the oil line going to the turbo
