Yup, I see some similarities :thumbsup:

How tall is it?

I'ma tryin' ta keep the overall chassis height under ~30"
...& under 36" with the wheels

Came up with a "completely fresh" take on the front axle too...

Goals were simpler & less weight (than the "spring loaded, pivoting axle" & bracket)

Also, made 'er bolt on
...so, its easily removable/replaceable :thumbsup:

"The roll bars connect to the side impact bars
...the side impact bars connect to the "nose hoop"
...the nose hoop connects to the base bars
...& then, the base bars connect back to the roll bars" :cheers2:

During assembly, I used many different "tools" (magnets, square, level, alignment boards etc.)
...& even rigged up a 3D jig, to help ensure the chassis was pretty well squared ;)

I "mocked up" a wheel, on a spindle & bracket to help establish the ride height

The nice-n-flat surfaces, are great for mounting the spindle brackets (on to)
...& my "patented" Castor adjustment "screw" makes it easy to "dial in" the Castor angle

I goin' for a "lighter" centering effect on the steering

So, I going to try ~3* of Negative Castor

Spindle bracket mounted & adjusted with screw
...& then, tacked in place

Then, simply remove the screw
...& then, you can weld 'em on good-n-solid :2guns:

Had ta go...got called in to work...early
...so, bit more on "ride height" (or ground clearance) :)

For this racer I'm thinkin' about tryin'/usin' some standard 6" go kart type wheels
...with probably ~13" tires
...which have a side wall of ~3"

The rule book mandates that the "ride height" must exceed the height, of the sidewall, of the tires.

5. Minimum ground clearance for any vehicle will be 2”.
•Vehicles with tires that have a sidewall height of over 2” must have a ground clearance
that exceeds the height of the tire sidewall to keep the vehicle off the ground in the event

of a flat tire.

So, the bottom of the frame (in the front) is/should be ~3 1/2" off of the ground (or workbench, for now)
...just to be sure ;)

* In the rear, I'm gonna set the "ride height" at ~4"
...because, while doin' research on Aerodynamics, I learned that "they" (whoever "they" is) recommend that the floor of the vehicle be set, on a bit of an angle :thumbsup:

Also, (forgot ta mention) a secondary reason that I mentioned ride height & the floorboard angle
...is because it can/will affect the Castor angle
...so, ya gotta incorporated "it" into the mix ;)

If ya set the Castor angle while the chassis/floorboard is setting level
...& then, "angle" the floorboard up in the rear
...it would negate or cancel out the Castor angle, you previously set :mad2:

We need ta have
...a "blocker" between the battery pack & driver (to help protect the driver from any potential battery issues)
...a "blocker" between the battery pack & motor (to help protect the battery pack from any potential motor/chain issues)
...a "blocker" between the motor & driver (to help protect the driver from any potential motor/chain issues)
...& also, a "blocker" between the motor & rear wheel (to help protect the motor from any water or debris potentially picked up by the wheel)

So, I added some Safety panels

The motor will be mounted in this little pocket
...with the battery pack mounted just ahead of the motor (under the driver)
...the rear wheel just behind the motor
...& the SC will be mounted just above the rear wheel

Then, there will be an easy to remove top cover
...for quick access to...pretty much...everything :thumbsup:

* Yes, the rear wheel will be mostly concealed under the body ;)
